Hello everyone and welcome to Youth Town. This is an area within The Creative Writing Network specifically for our younger members. I hope you like it here.
For the time being, Kiki (dead serious) and I (Emm'Eryldde) will do the moderating in Youth Town. As soon as we get active members visiting this part of the site, we will be looking for younger members to do the moderating.
This is your space and we are not here to police you in any way. Kiki and I have both been writing for many years and are here to help navigate, answer questions, and help new members get comfortable using the site.
If you have any suggestions for site content or special requests, just let Kiki or I know and we will do our best to make it happen.
I am aware that there are still some issues with the site, but…

Hangman is simple and fun — perfect for getting to know each other!
Here's how it works: I've chosen a phrase. Instead of showing the letters, I'll show dashes — one dash for each letter, spaces between words. Guess one letter at a time in the comments. If the letter is in the phrase, I'll replace the dash with it. If it's not, the hangman gets a new body part — head, body, arms, legs. Six wrong guesses and it's over!
The phrase has 5 words: 7 letters, 2 letters, 4 letters, 3 letters, 9 letters.
Wrong guesses so far: none
Guess a letter to start!

For our first writing challenge, let's write a haiku, which is a form of Japanese poetry. There are only three lines in the poem, which are guided by a syllable count as follows: 1st line is a syllable count of 5; 2nd line is a syllable count of 7; 3rd line is a syllable count of 5,
How about creating a haiku about your favorite time of day.
🌞Example: The clouds are fluffy
As the sun beats down on us
I am mid afternoon
Good luck, I am excited to see all of your creations!

A friendly challenge space where prompts, mini-deadlines, and accountability help you build a steady writing habit. Post your piece, talk about your process, and ask for targeted feedback if you want it. Celebrate wins, learn from experiments, and collect points for showing up. Keep it fun, supportive, and creative.
Our community idea hub — a warm, imaginative space that belongs to Owl-livia and to all of you. Share ideas, grow them on the branches, and let the community make them bloom.
The branches are bare — and waiting. Every idea a member shares becomes a leaf on this tree. Browse the ideas below, add your own, and join the conversation on any branch.
Got a thought for how TCWN could grow? Submit it below — it goes straight onto a branch for everyone to see.
Every idea is visible to all members. Comment, build on it, or share your enthusiasm. This is a conversation, not a suggestion box.
The community shapes what TCWN becomes. Owl-livia is just here to keep the branches warm.

Oops, I just noticed an error. The phrase has 6 words, not five, as follows: first word has 7 letters, second word has 2 letters, third word has 3 letters, fourth word has 4 letters, fifth word has 3 letters, and the sixth word has 9 letters.
For this first game I will give the vowels (a,e,I,o,u) as a hint so you can get the hang of it.
-E--O-E / -O / O U - / --A-- / -E- / -O--U-I--
Ok, lets see if we can guess the phrase before the hangman is drawn.
Good luck everyone!
